The fall sports season is underway and we will be doing team and individuals for all of RSU-13 schools and Five Town Football in the next couple of weeks. Looking forward to it. Ron Hawkes Photography specializes in Team & Individuals and would love to add your league, team or school onto our list of happy customers. A typical scenario is to set up a Photo Day well in advance so that as many as possible team members will be available. This service does not cost the league or team any money, in fact the league receives a 10% donation back to the league from us based on the total sales from the photo day or 5×7 team photos for all coaches. Individual teams do not qualify for a percentage back to the team, however they do get 5×7 team photos for the coaches (up to 2 per team). We offer a variety of plans that can provide photos for your sponsors, your volunteer coaches or a donation of the total sales back to your organization. Last year Ron Hawkes Photography gave back almost $2000. to local Maine leagues. We currently do the Team and Individual photos for the...

Rockland — Change, one word in the English dictionary that scares most people. We get comfortable and change means being uncomfortable. However change is inevitable and thus I enter a new chapter in my life. Over the past 10+ years I have operated under Maine Sports Report. Any of you that really know me, understand, this was something I was very proud of, I knew I was up against all odds of it surviving, but because I believed in it, and still do, I gave it everything I had and then some. Well, in the end, the business was no longer there as it was for most of the time the business ran, people for whatever reason stopped buying action photos. More and more parents were buying them at first, then I set up Village Soup to take more photos and post them for sale online when I worked for them, thus I now had a competitor once I left their employee that I never had before. More and more people are getting good quality DSLR cameras and taking their own photos too which is fine, I have helped many a mom and a few dads with their camera...

I went to So. Portland Saturday for a couple of basketball games and left early so I could visit the Portland Head Light. Had not been there since I was a child living n Portland. Cape Elizabeth is the home of Portland Head Light. Situated along the spectacular shores of Fort Williams Park, at 1000 Shore Road, the popular landmark is owned and managed by the Town of Cape Elizabeth, Maine. The Museum at Portland Head Light is contained within the former Keepers’ Quarters. The award winning Museum contains a number of lighthouse lenses and interpretative displays. Click here to view and purchase these photos Also on the site is a seasonal shop featuring fine lighthouse and Maine related gifts. The adjacent ninety acre Fort Williams Park offers picnic facilities, hiking opportunities, sports and recreation areas, historic fort structures, and unlimited ocean views. You can click here for a little history of the Lighthouse.

Bringing his many years of playing the blues to the Time Out Pub Monday, T.J. Wheeler and the Smokers got the small but enthusiastic crowd up on the dance floor most of the night with a wide variety of tunes from Blues, to Jazz, to Zydeco, even surf music like you have never heard it before. Wheeler said as he got entrenched in the blues he started to ignore the music he had grown up on and realized a while back that he could take that music and put his own Blues spin on the songs. The result was a wide variety of music that the crowd at the Time Out Blues Pub enjoined. Wheeler, who has not played in these parts for sometime sometime now, has been a staple of the blues community in Maine and New Hampshire for over 30 years. Wheeler (guitar, banjo, vocals) had David Thibodeau on bass and former Blues Prophet Jeff Davidson on the drums and vocals were a solid three piece band that highlighted the playing of Wheeler who is a master guitar player that also teaches guitar. From the opening number through the end, the band was hot, Wheeler was smoking...
