The Sticky Notes continue to expand their song catalog and improve with each performance. Thursday night is the Open Mic night at the Highlands Coffee House in Thomason fro 6-9 p.m. and you can find the Sticky Notes there every other week. The January 31 performance seen here in photos and video featured three new songs, “Brass in Pocket” the Pretenders; “Pink Houses” John Mellencamp; and “Take me to the River” Al Green. They try to offer up new songs every time they play. Come check out the Open Mic night, lots of fun, you never know who will show up, and the variety is amazing. Spent a little time at Harbor Park today as the clouds were quite colorful and dense. Made for a nice contrast to the calm water and a nice background for the many birds flying around. Here are some of my favorites. Click here for the full gallery of these images

Thursday, Sept. 20 I went to the Highland Cafe to take some photos of The Misfits, a group of three people that work together and decided to show the public what they had at their first public performance. The band is Philip Anderson (drums, vocals), Martin Ziegler (guitar, vocals) and Kathleen Hawkes (vocals). Now in case you have not figured this out, Kathleen is my wife, which is why I was really there, but I was glad I was by the end. The Misfits performed four songs, Stripes, by Johnny Cash; Glad all Over, Dave Clark Five; Lay Down Sally, Eric Clapton; and a Tracy Champman song that escapes me at the moment. The photo gallery is mostly my wife, but yes I am a little proud of her so next time I will include more shots of the band as well as a video. Click here to view the photo gallery

Went to the Rockport Marina Thursday, Aug. 23 and saw two very different pictures. The inner harbor was bright and sunny while the outer harbor was encased in a dense fog. Made for some interesting photos. Here is a sample from the gallery Click here for the full gallery
